Clutching a suitcase in one hand and a satchel full of cash in the other on Oct. 15, 1878, Mifflin Kenedy caught the train for Dodge City where his son Spike was charged with the murder of a popular female entertainer.
I’m still excited about the turnout for Holly Bailey’s fundraiser. As of 5 p.m. Monday afternoon, $31,934 had been raised with more still coming in! It is an awesome feeling to see so many from our community come together to help someone in need. We’re all proud people, but sometimes it’s necessary to receive help. My sincere thanks to all who were a part of planning the event.

The Dallas Texans, first pro football team in the Southwest, proved their season opening defeat was no fluke by losing 37-14 to the San Francisco 49’ers on Oct. 5, 1952.
It was a success thanks to you!
Wind companies are once again making moves to secure leases in Hamilton, Erath, and Comanche counties. This time it is Orsted, a Danish wind company who, at the moment, is having trouble making ends meet, loosing $545 million dollars last quarter.
The City of Hamilton is currently showing test results that have higher than normal nitrates in the water system. We believe this to be the reason that our chloramine residuals have decreased and caused us to dump water on the ground last week at Elevated Storage Tank (EST) #2. Upper Leon is aware of this and is beginning a chlorine conversion on September 17th.
