Leading up to the 1998 execution of ax murderer Karla Faye Tucker, there were repeated references to the fact that a woman had not been put to death in Texas since Nov. 12, 1863. Her name was Chipita Rodriguez and this is her sad but true story.
“What is believed to be the largest field in the country under one fence was broken and sown to wheat this fall by Hickman Price, the most extensive wheat farmer in the Panhandle of Texas,” the Kerrville Times reported on Nov.13, 1930.

On Monday, Dec. 10, I had the honor of being invited to the Hamilton American Legion’s annual banquet. I’ve never been in a room before surrounded by so many heroes, and it was a humbling experience. Picturing each of them as they once were, young and strong and willing to put their lives on the line to keep all of us back home safe, was very moving.

Dear Maria and Grant, Thank you and all your team for giving Hamilton First United Methodist Church such great coverage for our recent Harvest Festival. On Friday, Oct. 25, the Hamilton City Council met at 10 a.m. for a called agenda council meeting. It was brought to my attention the previous day that there was no social media, i.e. Facebook or Zoom, broadcasting the meeting. I had very serious concerns about this and expressed those concerns publicly after calling our meeting to order.
