Dear Maria: In my presentation to the Hamilton County Commissioner’s Court on Tuesday, June 11, in support of the Hamilton Public Library, I inadvertently omitted several of the many library benefits Hamilton County residents receive at absolutely no cost.

It is impossible to thank every individual who helped get our band to Florida for our parade performance. However, we want to give a huge THANK YOU to every local business that donated to our Band Barbecue Cook-Off, our Band Fall Festival, or any of our other events! Your donation enabled us to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our band members! Thank you to the Hamilton Herald News for the great coverage and support. Thanks to everyone who ate at the concession stand, and thanks to Hamilton ISD Administration and Staff for their continued support. Many thanks for the donation of feeding the kids at the beach, and at Planet Hollywood! Finally, a huge thank you to the Band Boosters, Band Parents, and the students themselves for an outstanding trip!

Dear Editor, Hamilton has a volunteer culture that dates back decades. Our schools, library and hospital are enhanced by the efforts of amazing non-profit organizations that provide fundraising support for programs.

Dear Editor, The Friends of the Hamilton Public Library would like to thank all of our library friends who came to the library on Friday and Saturday to purchase books, tacos and items from the garage sale. We had a record sale! First of all, thank you to our fantastic friends at the Lion’s Club for cooking and serving delicious breakfast tacos. Once again, our friends at the Hope House loaded and unloaded over 500 boxes of books. Jeff Layhew at Impact Pest ensured the books were free of pests before the sale. Kayla Schraub helped us design an eye-catching flyer for the sale. The Hamilton Herald News, KCLW and the Hico Review provided advertising and coverage of the event. And many thanks to our librarian, Nancy Diaz, for allowing the use of the Teague Community room for the book sale.
