Dear Editor, Every year I write this letter of thanks with such a grateful heart full of pride for my community. It truly takes a village to make our annual Miss Hamilton County Dove Festival Pageant happen each year. The history and tradition behind Dove Fest is something that is important to a lot of us, and I am so thankful that our pageant tradition is alive and thriving! This year, a record-shattering 2,592 votes were cast for the People’s Choice Award. The Chandler Craig Auditorium was packed with family and friends of each contestant, and we were able to crown a new queen’s court for 2024. It was a beautiful evening kicking off Dove Fest in the best way possible! Thank you to our title sponsor, Extraco Banks, for their willingness to be a part of our event this year. Their support has been crucial to helping our pageant continue to thrive and grow. I look forward to our partnership in the coming years!
The museum will be selling refreshments during this year’s Dove Festival.
When my wife and I moved here four years ago, we were shocked by the number of loose dogs that wandered by our house every day. Until recently when we had to put our dog down, we’ve had a dog our entire marriage and not one time did any of them ever get out. We finally determined they were coming from houses on our street that had fences which had holes that were being used like a revolving door.
Come see us! We are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., M-F. Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. each day. Menu is subject to change.
Dear Editor, The Hamilton Band would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who bought a BBQ plate dinner, to every local business that supported, to every person who volunteered to judge, and to every parent and student that helped work the 21st Annual Band Booster Barbecue Cook-Off Aug. 2-3!
