Editor’s note: A member of the Greatest Generation, Raymond Talbott of Hamilton will celebrate his 100th birthday this coming Sunday. Family and friends gathered at Focused Care the day before Father’s Day to honor Talbott’s legacy and remarkable life.

Hamilton ISD announced that Ann Whitney Elementary’s newest principal will be a familiar face and Bulldog alum. Sheila Ondrusek will be stepping into the role following the departure of Shana Campbell, who served as AWE principal for one year and recently accepted another position as elementary principal at Three Way ISD.

While summer is in full swing and the heat is on the rise, Hamilton Junior high and Ann Whitney Elementary already have their school supply lists ready for the 2026-27 school year. Other necessary supplies will be provided by HJH. All students will need a backpack and a sealable water bottle. Students may also want locker organizers.

Ann Whitney Elementary has released their school supply lists for the 2026-27 school year for grades Pre-K through 5th. All students must bring one regular sized backpack (not small) and four antibacterial wipes (non-bleach).
