Notes from the Mayor
In July, I introduced you to Mills Mehaffey, a senior this year at Hamilton High School who was in the final qualification stage of becoming an Eagle Scout.
Thank you so much to everyone who donated water and Gatorade! We have received more than enough, so please hold off on any additional donations of these items. We are truly grateful for your generosity and support! No more donations needed at this time.

A small rural school is more than a place for learning — it’s the heart of the community.
It’s a great time to be a Hamilton Bulldog sports fan! The girls’ cross-country team just won their fourth straight state championship! Our girls’ volleyball team just won their Regional semifinals and will play Tuesday in the volleyball regional final in Fort Worth. And if you didn’t attend the Hamilton Bulldogs’ football game Friday against DeLeon for the district championship, you missed one of the greatest team efforts and comebacks I’ve ever seen.
Dear Editor, On behalf of the Hamilton Band Boosters, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who played a role in making the recent Band Boosters Fall Festival an overwhelming success. We are thrilled to bring back this community tradition for the third year, and it would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment and countless hours of hard work from so many individuals. We would also like to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of our Marching Season and helped with one of our biggest fundraisers, the Concession Stand at Kooken Field.
Dear Editor, The squeals of excitement from 461 children choosing their very own free book during Halloween Trick or Treat on the Square last Fri- day said it all-this year's Boo for Books event was a huge success!
Trafalgar Homes has begun the site work for the new twenty townhouses in the 600 block of South Stidham! When I was first approached by their general manager and he showed me what their product was, I started envisioning all of the great benefits townhomes would provide Hamilton. They are something Hamilton sorely needs. Then when I was told they were looking at property on South Stidham right behind the high school, I started thinking of all the benefits they would provide. There will be one and two bedrooms available.

In the middle of the night on Nov. 5, 1960, Johnny “Battle of New Orleans” Horton’s premonition of dying at the hands of a drunk came true on a dark highway in Central Texas.
Dear Editor, Kudos to the lone resident of Hamilton who possesses the strength of conviction to stand up for democracy and oppose monarchy on NO KINGS DAY.
If you missed the fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 19, for our Volunteer Fire Department, you missed out on something special. First, a great catfish dinner with all the trimmings, plus the opportunity to show your support for our VFD and their fundraising efforts for their new and much needed fire station. The weather was perfect and the company was great with many familiar faces. 95% of firefighters in the United States are volunteers! If you were out of town and couldn’t make it, please make an effort to find Danny Watson or one of our other volunteers to make your donation for this good cause.
