Happy New Year! Let’s start off the New Year with some good news. Brookshire Brothers donated 51 bags of groceries to the Hamilton Community Center. I would like to thank Jorge and the Brookshire team for their generosity and special thanks to the Ag Mech students who helped unload everything, including Jeffrey Jones, Ace Koether, Jase Jones, Masyn Raibourn and Lawson Yates. We truly appreciate your hard work and willingness to help serve our community.

PANCHO VILLA PLAYS HIMSELF IN A MOVIE By Bartee Haile

I first met Sgt. Jamie Fry in the summer of 2023. An elderly lady who lived in Gatesville had come to Hamilton to visit a friend and had a flat on S. Railroad. Sgt. Fry was with the Hamilton Police Department at the time, and he was changing her tire. I struck up a conversation with her while he worked in the heat with all of his equipment on. I was so impressed with him. Soon she was on her way back home.

A free clinic on how to properly and safely manage home septic systems will be held virtually on Dec. 11 from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Hamilton is raising a glass to something new this spring as the community prepares to debut its first-ever Sip & Stroll wine-tasting event on Saturday, March 28 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Dear Editor, The Community Foundation of Hamilton County hosted the fourth annual Community Thanksgiving Lunch on Thanksgiving Day.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again - Hamilton, Texas has the biggest hearts I know!

The past two fourths of July when the Declaration of Independence is read on the Hamilton County Courthouse steps, as your Mayor, I have shared with you that I believe far too many people wake up that morning planning on grilling out or going to the lake, and not nearly enough begin the day realizing it is a celebration of the Declaration of our nation’s independence from the tyranny of Great Britain.

On Oct. 10, the Hamilton General Hospital Healthcare Foundation held its first annual Clay Shoot bringing together 54 shooters across 14 teams for a day of friendly competition, camaraderie, and community support.
