Dear Hamilton Herald-News, On Saturday January 6th Billy Hollingsworth refused to attend our Sheriff candidate debate because he is unwilling to publicly face questions about his qualifications to hold the office of Sheriff. Since the debate Mr. Hollingsworth has continued to make false and misleading statements about his credentials and those of his opponents, including in his letter to the editor published in your newspaper last week. While I, as Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party, will not make an endorsement in this race, I feel it is my job to provide our voters with truthful information. Here are the facts: 1) Mr. Hollingsworth does not possess the necessary license or service history to actually serve as Sheriff.
A DIFFICULTYEAR
Letter to the editor This is to clear up the false and malice statements made at the Hamilton County Republican Party Sheriffs Debate on Jan 6th 2024 by Lucas Robinson our County Chair, Brad Boulton, and Issac Partain. These are their own words that these three persons made during this debate.

Letter to the Editor: On December 2, 2023 we received a phone call our home was on fire. Naturally the feelings of sheer panic came over us all on our ride back from basketball in DeLeon. As we pull down our dirt road the sight of smoke confirmed it was real. When we pulled into our drive, we saw what we thought was our all burning to the ground. What a sense of shock your mind goes into as you recall all your precious items inherited or purchased all with sentimental value. Sadness and grief overtake you. A loss of the place you call home. Where memories have been made, laughter has rung through each wall, tears have been shed, babies have been rocked, kids have turned to teens, so many milestones under one roof. The grief consumes you even though you know it’s just stuff. This stuff to us meant so much more, precious reminders of friends, family, and joy. Yet, through all our loss we have gained so much.
