Prior to stampeding the area competition last week on their way to earning men’s and women’s area track titles in Rio Vista, Hamilton High School grabbed a quartet of District 12 team track titles the previous week in Rio Vista, taking first in both the boys’ and girls’ varsity and junior varsity divisions.
REGIONAL GOLF- Hamilton’s Bulldog and Lady Bulldog golfers were scheduled to tee off on Wednesday and Thursday at the The Old Brickyard Golf Course in Ferris for the 2A Region II Golf Tournament. Hamilton’s girls and boys claimed District 12-2A team titles March 29 in Cleburne and will be joined at the regional tournament by golfers from Seymour, Quanah, Olney, Archer City, Petrolia, Albany, Cisco, Hawley, Haskell, DeLeon, Santo, Hico, Tolar, Poolville, Valley Mills, Itasca, Rio Vista, Lindsay, Tioga, Muenster, Alvord, Chico, Celeste, Bland, Trenton, Wolfe City, Tom Bean, Cooper, Boles, Alba-Golden, North Hopkins, Rivercrest, Linden-Kildare and Detroit. The top three teams and top three individuals not on an advancing team will qualify to compete at the Texas 2A State Golf Tournament at The Legends Golf Course in Kingsland. The state tournament for the girls will be May 10-11, followed by the boys’ state tournament May 17-18. REGIONAL TENNIS- Presley Sliger earned a second-placed finish in girls' singles last Tuesday during the second day of district tennis competition in Waco. Sliger will join Hamilton's district champions Joe Polster, Emiley Hale and Sawyer Wright, as well as regional qualifiers Miranda Olvera and Morgan Aing at the 2A Region II Tennis Championships April 26-27 at the Richland Tennis Center in North Richland Hills.
AREA QUALIFIERS: A pack of 28 Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs qualified for and were scheduled to represent Hamilton High School at the area track meet in Rio Vista on Monday of this week. 15 Lady Bulldogs and 13 Bulldogs placed in the top four of their respective events during the two-day district track meet, also hosted by Rio Vista, and the majority of Hamilton’s athletes qualified in multiple events.
