VIETNAM VETS MEET FOR 50 ANNIVERSARY – Members of Company D 2/1, 196 Batallion 23 “Americal” infantry division and their families gathered at the home of Jerry Tucker in Kentucky. American Legion Post 222 is selling brick pavers to honor or memorialize servicemen and servicewomen who served in the U.S. military. Honorees do not have be from Hamilton County. The 86-annual 4 of July Taylor Family Reunion was held at Kyle and Rita Taylor Arnolds home in Evant, this year.
Hamilton has at least 16 Texas Historical Markers. From these markers, I have learned that early Hamiltonians were tough and had to fight Indians. A lot of places burned, which meant a lot of history was lost. My greatgreat-great-grandparents might have come to Hamilton because of letters written by Elise Waerenskjold.
