SAN ANTONIO SHOOTOUT CHAMPION - Colton Christian, a junior at Hamilton High School, won the FFA Modified Trap Open Boys Championship earning a $10,000 scholarship, championship buckle and other gifts. Christian competed against 1057 participants.
Safety net deadline March 15
Agricultural producers who have not yet enrolled in the Agriculture Risk Coverage or Price Loss Coverage programs for the 2022 crop year have until March 15 to sign a contract.

The Cross Timbers Prescribed Burn Association (CTPBA) will meet on Saturday, March 5, at 9 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Family Center located at 122 Cheyenne Mesa, Hamilton. Lifters weigh-in at Hamilton Invitational
Over 220 powerlifting competitors converged on Hamilton High School over the weekend for the Hamilton Invitational held in the Larry Eilers Gymnasium.
Board nixes admin add-on
In a split vote Monday evening, Hamilton Independent School District board of trustees voted not to approve one-year extensions for HISD administrators, Superintendent Clay Tarpley reported Tuesday morning.
City, school ballots full
With local election filings ending Friday, two entities will officially have elections May 7.

Election Day is Tuesday, March 1 for Texas primary elections and a slew of candidates are featured on both the Republican and Democratic ballots.
