5 HISD admin contracts OK’d
After half an hour of public participation and 95 minutes in closed session, Hamilton Independent School District board of trustees extended the contracts of five out of six school administrators Monday evening.

ZIG-ZAGGING ZEBRA- A police chase ensued Sunday afternoon when a zebra being transported from one wildlife refuge to another escaped a hauling trailer near Sonic and hit the streets of Hamilton. Hamilton Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety black-and-whites chased the black and white creature for more than two hours before capturing him at Baker and Railroad. The Hamilton County Commissioners have called an election for May 7 regarding the Constitutional Amendments.

MAY ELECTION
MAY ELECTION - On Wednesday, Feb. 23, ballot order was selected for the May 7 local ballot for the city of Hamilton. For council, Daniel Thatcher received the top spot, followed by Gary Haggard and then Richard Buchanan. Mayor Rodney Craddick who is running unopposed is also listed on the ballot.
Daughters of Texas to meet Tuesday
The Bosque River Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 in Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church of Stephenville. The special guest speaker will be Robert E. Hollmann, lawyer, award winning playwright, author of adult and children’s books, and second vice president of the Sons of the Republic of Texas David Crockett Chapter in Granbury. He will speak about lesser-known defenders of the Alamo.
