STATE TEE TIME- Hamilton High School senior Karsyn Smyth was scheduled to tee off Monday and Tuesday at the UIL State Golf Tournament at The Legends Golf Course in Kingsland.

After the program was discontinued in 1986, Jonesboro High School baseball reemerged this season with a vengeance.

The Hamilton Bulldogs made quick work of Stamford in the bi-district round of the baseball playoffs last week, shellacking the opposing Bulldogs by margins of 18-0 and 12-2 respectively in games played on Thursday and Saturday in Glen Rose.

LEADING THE PACK- Taylor Long (4) and Caleb Lengefeld (2), pictured leading the pack in the state 2A 800-meter run, entered the meet with the top two fastest times in state and placed first and fourth respectively in Austin Friday.

HANDOFF- Hamilton’s 4x200-meter relay - Colby Bailey, Jaydon Watson, Taylor Long and Jakob Walton - narrowly missed the medal stand, placing fourth out of the state’s top nine teams.

WALTON RUNNING- Senior Jakob Walton, pictured running in the mile relay Friday, anchored both of Hamilton’s state-qualifying relays in Austin, and he placed sixth overall in the 2A state 200-meter dash.
