Five members of the 12-2 state semifinalist 2023 Jonesboro Eagle football team received all-state honors as recognized by the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association, including (l-r) junior Austin Massingill (2nd team tight end), senior Demarcus Acoff (1st team defensive line, TSMCA All-Star), senior Garrett Young (2nd team cornerback), senior Jacob Cisneros (1st team safety, TSMCAAll-Star) and junior Layden Nichols (1st team kicker). 2023 TSMCAAll-Region Coach of the Year Eddie Gallagos and the Eagles lost only to state-runner up Westbrook in week two of the season and to the eventual state champion Gordon Longhorns in the state semifinal round of the 2023 Division 1-1A six-man playoffs.
