Hamilton’s seventh grade Lady Bulldogs claimed their second track and field championship in as many weeks on Monday of last week in Comanche, claiming a team-winning 217 points to finish ahead of Comanche with 179, Tolar 122, Goldthwaite 45 and Comanche B with 18.
DISTRICT READY - The now 5-7 Hamilton Bulldogs were busy on the baseball diamond last week. After dropping a district opening contest in Coleman by a score of 3-0, the Dogs entered a competitive final tournament in Rio Vista and captured a win in one of three ball games. After falling to the host Eagles 11-0, the Bulldogs tagged a 4-2 victory over Itasca before falling in game three to Lorena, 10-5. The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to district competition this week in a two-game home and away series with Winters. On Thursday, the two teams will face off at Fair Park in Hamilton. The junior varsity is scheduled to play at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity at 6. The Dogs will travel to Winters on Friday with the varsity squads scheduled to play at 4:30 p.m., directly followed by the JV teams. Next Tuesday, the Dogs will travel to face district foe DeLeon. HHS rounds up titles at Rattler Relays
Hamilton’s junior high track and field athletes opened the 2024 season in Tolar on Monday of last week. Competing in their first ever junior high track competition, the seventh grade Lady Bulldogs sped to a team championship. The eighth grade Lady Dogs earned team silver and both the seventh and eighth grade Bulldog squads claimed team bronze.

In addition to capturing a second consecutive District 12-2A title with a perfect 12-0 run through the district gauntlet, the 2023-24 Lady Bulldog basketball team posted a 24-10 record this year enroute to claiming a 61-23 bi-district victory over Hico and Hamilton’s first area title since 2018 with a 61-57 victory over Windthorst.
