The Hamilton Bulldogs evened up their district record to 1-1 with a dominant 51-0 victory over the Eastland Mavericks. Now with a 2-3 overall record, the Bulldogs tie for fifth place in District 5 3A Division 2 along with Eastland and Comanche, while Millsap and Clifton sit tied for first. Through five games in the 2026 season, the Bulldogs have seen different play styles from opponents across a few classifications. Through the start of the season, Hamilton has relied on their passing and defense to pull off wins. They adjusted to their opponents once again and the run game was dominant as the Bulldogs ran all over Maverick Stadium with senior running back Ricky Shank scoring four rushing touchdowns and catching a touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Ollie Summers.

Hamilton Cross Country didn’t travel far for their meet this week but did well. High school and Junior high runners took part in the Stephenville Thrill of the Hill Invitational on September 23 at Stephenville City Park. The Junior High boys’ teams both took top finishes racing through a city park, with both teams having three runners in the top 16. All Junior high teams and the varsity girls finished within the top 10.
