The Hamilton Herald - News frequently receives calls from citizens reporting telephone scams. This week we received a report of a call from scammers claiming to be Amazon inquiring about a large purchase, which the citizen had not made.

COVID-19 up, business down

Chamber nixes Dove Festival
In the light of public safety, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and organizers of the 48th Annual Hamilton County Dove Festival made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event, which was scheduled for Sept. 5.
Library construction continues
Construction continues on the Hamilton Public Library’s expansion project.
Last week, crews installed signage on the front of the building and solar panels on the library roof.

The effects of COVID-19 on the Hamilton County museum and other non-profit organizations is extremely damaging. As we look around our community, a big change is noticeable – all non-profit organizations are struggling because we depend on volunteers and have no income. We depend on fundraisers, events and donations to be able to continue giving back to our community.
