PATRIOTIC RESPECT - Each year for Memorial Day, American Legion Post No. 222 and many volunteers place U.S. flags at every veteran’s grave in local cemeteries. Because the ground is dry and hard, quite a few of the cemetery flag staffs get broken or the flags fall on the ground because they can’t be securely placed. In an attempt to remedy this situation, Scout Troop 311 assisted the American Legion this weekend by placing a tube beside each veteran’s headstone in order to make placement easier and hold the flag securely.
