The Hamilton Historic Main Street Advisory Board met on June 23 at noon at Studio on the Square for a regularly scheduled meeting. This was the second time the board has had a chance to meet in person, but this time with a different atmosphere while remaining six feet apart and offering virtual connectivity as an accommodating option.

Perks of Gardening
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) provides much-needed financial assistance to farmers and ranchers who have suffered a five-percent-or-greater price decline or who had losses due to market supply chain disruptions due to COVID-19 and face additional significant market costs.
As most of you that are interested in the Hamilton County Museum know, we are a non-profit organization trying in every way possible to continue restoration of the buildings, adding important information, pictures and memorabilia belonging to the past families that settled this town. Many of you are ancestors of these important leaders, and many have donated articles of interest to help remind us of how life was many years ago in Hamilton County.
June is Alzheimer’s and brain health awareness month, so I can’t pass up this opportunity to stress what a horrible disease Alzheimer’s is and the need for research and changes in the treatment of its victims.
Myths and misconceptions about Alzheimer’s disease abound - what it is, who gets it and how it affects the people who have it. These myths stand in the way of understanding the disease and helping those affected.
