Hamilton High School’s powerlifters, coached by Sonny DeLaGarza and Howard Cox, now have two competitions under their belt and will compete in Stephenville this Saturday before hosting a meet on Saturday, Feb. 22.

With one game remaining in Coleman on Tuesday of this week, the Lady Bulldogs held a half-game lead over the Coleman Lady Bluecats in the District 6-3A standings.

Despite connecting on 35.6% of their field goals, compared to 29.4% by Cisco, the Lady Bulldogs downed six of 13 free throws compared to Cisco’s 12 of 16 and fell to the Lady Loboes by six points from the charity stripe, 51-45, last Friday at home.

The Texas University Interscholastic League announced new realignments for school districts across the state competing in football, basketball and volleyball on Monday.

Hamilton’s Lady Bulldogs are on a roll in District 6-3A, ripping through their last four competitors including Dublin, Coleman, Comanche and Early.

The Hamilton Bulldogs dropped two district contests last week to Comanche and Early, settling into sixth out of eight teams with a 2-5 record midway through the District 6-3A schedule.

In recognizing the top 1A- 6A football players throughout central Texas, the Waco Tribune-Herald bestowed 2019 honorable mention Super Centex honors upon Hamilton Bulldog middle linebacker Caleb Lengefeld last week.
