Janie was born May 16, 1942, in San Saba, the daughter of Homer and Minnie Smith. After graduating from high school, she married Leo Johnson. They were blessed with four daughters Pam, Paula, Phyllis and Patty.

Janie lived in Evant for most of her life where she was employed as a nurse. She had a big heart for the elderly and was honored to help make sure they were properly cared for.

Janie loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed getting together to visit with her many relatives. She loved to cook and always made sure her family had plenty to eat. She enjoyed baking, working in her flower garden and watching football on Sunday afternoon.
