DSHS: Unvaccinated 20 times more likely to die from COVID
A new study released by the Texas Department of State Health Services shows that during the month of September, Texans not vaccinated against COVID-19 were about 20 times more likely to suffer a COVID-19-associated death and 13 times more likely to test positive than people who were fully vaccinated.

Anvil shoot Thursday

LOUD AND PROUD
For what has become an almost annual pilgrimage, well over 100 Hamilton Bulldog fans and community supporters made the trip to Round Rock on Saturday to support both the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs at the Texas UIL State Cross Country Championships. Hamilton High School was one of only four 2A school districts to be represented at the state competition by both their boys’ and girls’ teams. Following up on a fourth in state finish last season, the 2021 state runner-up Hamilton Bulldogs earned a spot on the state medal stand in Round Rock. It marked the highest ever team finish by a Hamilton boys cross country team. The Lady Bulldogs also shocked the 2A state cross country field on Saturday, placing seventh overall out of the state’s top 16 teams.

Kid vaccines now at clinic
Texas kids ages five to 11 are now eligible to start getting their first COVID-19 vaccine injections after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently approved the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for emergency use for that age group.
