Tucked away in the woods of Hamilton County just off 281 in Hico, sits the tiny house community better known as Tiny Town.

AUSTIN – This season, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) Big Time Texas Hunts (BTTH) program is offering Texans some of the very best hunting opportunities in the state. Ten premium guided hunt packages are offered in this year’s Big Time Texas Hunts drawing. In the last 25 years, Big Time Texas Hunt participants have helped raise more than $18 million to fund wildlife research, habitat conservation and public hunting access. The 2021-22 hunting season was the biggest revenue producing year for the program, raising over $1.32 million.

Organizers of this year’s 50 annual Hamilton County Dove Festival and Rodeo would like for everyone to come out for a rip-roaring good time on Labor Day Weekend. The rodeo will kick off Friday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Fair Grounds Keith Curry Arena and again on Saturday. Diamond Cross Rodeo Company will be back for the fifth year to produce the rodeo. “We know the community, we know the people,” said Diamond Cross’s Jeff Slaton. “We are happy to come back every year. We enjoy it.” This year’s rodeo is a sanctioned United Pro Rodeo/ Cowboy Professional Rodeo.
