Letter to the Editor,

(Utility policies, procedures, and rates have changed over time to address changing conditions in our city. This is the fourth in a series of articles written to alleviate any misunderstandings or confusion about those changes and to dispel misinformation frequently posted on social media.)

Hamilton County Farm Bureau Board of Directors honored board members David Melde and Greg Eilers last Wednesday for their many years of service to Hamilton County and the Hamilton County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. Melde has served since 1993 as either Hamilton CFB president or board member. Eilers also has served the HCFB board for many years. Both men completed their terms on the HCFB board at the end of October. A big “thank you” to David and Greg for volunteering their time to Hamilton County and the Hamilton CFB.

Dolph Briscoe survived a surprisingly strong challenge from Republican Henry Grover on Nov. 7, 1972, but the six-percent showing by the Raza Unida candidate made the Democrat the first Texas governor in 78 years elected without a clear majority of the votes.

Eight Bulldog seniors played their final home football game at Kooken Field Friday night, including Colby Bailey, Jakob Walton, Erich Eilers, Denver Poe, Luis Najera, Xander Ceresini, Dawson Armstrong and Ethan LeGrande. In a spirited match between two comparable teams battling for the fourth and final playoff spot in District 7-2A beneath an October blue moon, a convocation of visiting Rio Vista Eagles roosted at Kooken Field and flew the coop with a heartbreaking 30-19 victory over the host Bulldogs.
