Hamilton’s varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams scrimmaged opposing colors in Clifton last Friday before traveling to Early for additional practice games on Saturday.

Fifty Bulldogs strong reported for the first day of fall workouts on Monday of this week, and according to Head Bulldog Football Coach Casey Jones, a handful more are expected to arrive for practices this week.

ALL-STATE- Texas Sports Writers Association named Hamilton sophomore Chase Weaver to the 2A all-state second team as an outfielder and awarded him an all-state honorable mention nod for his work on the mound as a pitcher this past season. Weaver received 2A first team all-state recognition as an outfielder by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association earlier this summer. On the right, senior Colby Bailey also received 2A all-state honorable mention recognition from the TSWA as a third baseman for the Bulldogs. Bailey was named the District 7-2A Offensive Player of the Year this past season, and Weaver was recognized as the District 7-2A Pitcher of the Year. From the mound, Weaver recorded 100 strikeouts as a sophomore, and Bailey registered 132 putouts during his senior campaign in leading the regional quarterfinalist Bulldogs to a 23-11-1 winning record.
