13 HHS golfers get state honors
The Texas Association of Golf Coaches bestowed all-state recognition on 13 Hamilton High School golfers last week for their performance on the course and in the classroom last spring.

Foreshadowing an ominous night for Moody’s visiting junior varsity squad last Thursday evening at Kooken Field, Hamilton’s Izaac Wood returned the opening kickoff 34 yards across to the Moody 40 yard line. Four plays later, Bryce Bankston made Hamilton’s first deposit of many to come in the scoring box as the young Bulldogs rolled the Bearcats in their season opener, 52-0.
At last Friday’s pep rally, 36 Hamilton High School students received lettermen jackets.
Leave the candles at home and fire up the Friday night lights. The table is set for a date night with the Bearcats as the Hamilton Bulldogs look to kick-off the 2021 football season in Moody this Friday evening at 7 p.m.
THEY’RE BACK - Following a 2020 season where the Lady Bulldogs placed fourth at regional and the state qualifying Bulldogs placed fourth in Round Rock, the Hamilton Cross Country team is back and ready to fire off the starting line next Wednesday, September 1 in the Brownwood Invitational. Races are set to begin at 9:30 a.m. at Gordon Wood Stadium. Evant grad Clay Parrish and son Cason Parrish will be on ESPN2 this Friday at 6 p.m. as the Wylie West Texas State Champions compete in the Little League World Series. Clay is the first base coach and Cason is a stand-out pitcher and outfielder for the Wylie team.
A young varsity Lady Bulldog volleyball team with a roster chock-full of sophomores and three juniors captured their first victories of the season last Friday during the Whitney Tournament.
HJH Showcase: Hamilton’s 2021-2022 junior high cheerleaders welcomed kindergarten through sixth grade students to Meet the Teacher on Monday of this week.
