After a town send-off, a rain delay, a cancellation and more rain delays, the Hamilton Bulldogs won the bi-district round after three compact games in two different settings against the recently selected Santo Wildcats to get first time head coach Dylan Driskill his first postseason victory.
Harper Lengefeld first picked up a tennis racket three years ago as a freshman, and under the guidance of Hamilton High School Head Tennis Coach Miles Sellers, she steadily found her groove and earned an individual silver medal in just the third week of her debut season. Lengefeld went on that season to claim bronze in two subsequent tournaments and punched a surprising ticket to regionals by placing second in district. Needing a top two finish at the regional tournament in North Richland Hills to advance to state in 2024, the unseeded freshman shocked the competition and narrowly missed boarding a state bound bus after capturing a regional bronze medal.
Evant Texas was well represented at the Regional track meet this past weekend. Speedy Elks placed in the top 10 in over half of the events they participated in.
Lady Dogs capture fourth straight regional title
REGIONAL RYDE- Though Ryder Coker dropped an opening round of 16 match to C.J. Madison of Yantis, 6-1, 6-2, his showing in North Richland Hills marked the senior’s second consecutive appearance at the regional tennis tournament.
Organizers are saying this weekend’s 16th annual Harry Bullard Memorial Golf Tournament is going to be, “bigger and better than ever!”
Hamilton Bulldog Baseball closed out the final series of the 2026 season with a 2-0 sweep from the Crawford Pirates. The Bulldogs finish the season with a 10-16-1 record and a playoff match on the horizon.
Following a devastating tornado that ripped through the area last Saturday, claiming two lives, Springtown ISD has agreed to stay on as host of this week’s UIL 2A Region II Track and Field Championships to be held on Friday and Saturday. Weather permitting, the two-day competition will follow a stringent schedule in conjunction with the other three regions in the state.
