Hamilton’s football team took Dublin by storm over the weekend to kick off the summer league 7-on-7 football season. After trouncing behemoths Tolar, Tioga and Early, the Bulldogs fell to Sonora 20-12 in the championship game. Saturday’s competition was considered a state-qualifying tournament, with the champion punching a ticket to the state tournament to be held later this summer in College Station. Hamilton’s 7-on-7 football team is scheduled to play in Dublin every Tuesday in June and will compete in another state-qualifying event on Friday, June 7, in Abilene.

Eagles soaring to State

For the first time in program history, the Jonesboro Lady Eagle softball team claimed a regional championship last Friday in Waxahachie and a bid to compete in the Texas UIL 1A State Softball Championships.
