Hamilton XC does it again…
Five Hamilton High School cross-country runners turned in all-state performances in Round Rock Saturday morning, each finishing in the top 25 of all individuals representing a team at the state meet. Senior Cuyler Pearcy led the Bulldogs to a sixth-place team finish in Round Rock by placing 35th individually out of the state’s top 147 competitors and 23rd overall among all individuals representing a team at state. Hamilton’s state champion Lady Bulldogs had four runners earn all-state accolades with their fifth runner, senior Campbell Lengefeld, missing out by just one place. Cuyler Pearcy’s sister and two-time allstate competitor Anna Pearcy placed fifth out of the state’s top 150 runners, and the sophomore was fourth out of all individuals representing a team in Round Rock. Sophomore Kaitlyn Walton was 22nd overall and 14th in the individual team standings, followed by freshman Chaska Downs (24th, 16th) and Presley Long (35th, 23rd). Lengefeld finished in 42nd position individually and was 26th in the final individual team standings. Sophomore down lineman Colter Johnson (15) wreaked havoc on the Eagle offense last Friday, recording 12 tackles, including five for loss and four sacks while also forcing a fumble that was recovered by fellow sophomore Halston Haile.
