The playoff bound Hamilton Bulldogs entered the week at 13-5 on the season and 7-4 in district with a final regular season contest scheduled against Graford in Hamilton on Tuesday. The still unbeaten in district and first in stateranked Lipan Indians held a firm grip on the District 11-2A reins, trailed by Hamilton, Graford and Poolville, all vying for second and third positions. After already avenging a first-round loss to Poolville, the Dogs were looking to even the score with Graford on Tuesday.

Led by second-year Head Coach Maddi Sims and first year Assistant Coach Zach Wood, the Lady Bulldog softball team punched a season- opening 14-1 victory over a junior varsity squad from Killeen during the Troy Tournament on Thursday of last week. Though the now 1-1 Lady Dogs fell to Normangee five runs to none later in the day, the win over Killeen marked one more than the Diamond Dogs managed to earn all of last season.

Though the now 11-5 Hamilton Bulldogs lost a road decision to the first in state-ranked Lipan Indians on Tuesday of last week, 80-40, the Dogs took care of business on Friday in Hamilton, sacking Santo 73-34.
Though the Lady Bulldogs dropped a pair of district contests last week in Lipan and at home versus Santo on Friday, they entered this week firmly seated in fourth position with a 6-5 record behind unbeaten in district Lipan at 11-0, second-place Santo at 9-2 and Hico with a 7-4 district record and a head-to-head victory over the Lady Dogs. Four-win Graford, two-win Poolville and winless DeLeon are relegated to wrapping up their regular seasons this week with no hope of a playoff bid.
