Mattie Jo Lawson was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Hamilton. She passed away at the age of 91 on Aug. 20, 2022, in Mesquite. Jo graduated from Hamilton High School in 1949. After graduation she attended Abilene Christian College, now known as Abilene Christian University. Jo taught sixth and seventh grade math for 30 years at Victor H.
