Hospital to host blood drive
Hamilton Healthcare System is hosting a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at 400 N. Brown St. in the parking lot on the Carter BloodCare bus.
Don’t forget to vote Saturday
Saturday is election day.
Polls open at 7 a.m. at Hamilton City Hall, 200 E. Main and will be open until 7 p.m.
Voters will choose three city councilmen, two school board members and a mayor.
COVID claims another resident
After several weeks of no positive COVID-19 case in Hamilton County, another life was lost to the virus this week, bringing the county’s total to 19 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION
CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION- Hamilton County Child Protective Services Board placed flags and a banner on the courthouse square for the month of April, which is Child Abuse Prevention Month. In 2020, 279 children were removed from their home as a result of abuse or neglect across a five-county area. Most were returned to their families, but some were not. Statewide, 2962 children are waiting to find a permanent adoptive home, 288 of whom are in Central Texas. For foster and adoption information, contact adoptchildren.org.
