Hamilton County Historical Commission has begun an effort to compile a history of the Hamilton Coryell Soil Conservation District, now known as the Hamilton-Coryell Soil and Water Conservation District. This District has been a positive force for conservation and increased production for cattle producers and farmers in Hamilton and beyond for over 80 years. This is a history that deserves to be preserved.
‘Dunk me if you can!’
Hamilton Police Chief Brad Boulton and Hamilton County Sergeant Investigator Isaac Partain are already smack-talking about this week’s dunking booth at the Hamilton County Dove Festival. “Dunk us if you can,” they challenged. Others taking their chances are HISD Superintendent Clay Tarpley, Ann Whitney Elementary Principal James Slone, Hamilton High School Girls Athletic Coordinator Coach Patrick Blount and HHS Principal Gina Poe. The dunking booth will be Saturday on the east side of the square starting with Boulton and Partain from noon to 1 p.m., Poe and Blount 1-2 p.m., Slone 2-3 p.m. and Tarpley 3-4. Balls are $2 each or three for $5.
