Superintendent Jennifer Zschiesche announced the district has been approved for the Teacher Incentive Allotment at Monday’s Hamilton Independent School District Board of Trustees meeting.

The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce is taking nominations until noon April 1 for Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, New Business of the Year, Business of the Year, Educator of the Year, Healthcare Professional of the Year, Restaurant of the Year and Agribusiness of the Year for 2025.

Hamilton County will get an updated website by April 2027 per Hamilton County Judge James Yates at Tuesday’s commissioners court meeting.

Since 1983, when April was designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month, towns across the country have used this month-long observance to increase awareness of child abuse and its prevention.

Hamilton Public Library will host a situational awareness class, Safety Savvy: Skills that Make a Difference, on Thursday, March 26, at 6 p.m. in the HPL Community Room. Led by James Lively, this free class is designed to help community members become more alert, confident and prepared in everyday situations.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and OneOp will host a webinar, “Applying Ethical Standards in Financial Counseling,” March 26 from 10 a.m. to noon.
