USDA expediting assistance to ag producers
– U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins on National Agriculture Day March 18 announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture is issuing up to $10 billion directly to agricultural producers through the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program for the 2024 crop year.
Long Haul
Hamilton FFA junior Presley Long and her Red Angus heifer won their class at the Houston Livestock Show Junior Breeding heifer show last week. The calf remained undefeated for the major show season having placed first at Fort Worth, San Angelo and Houston. The heifer was produced locally by Massingill Cattle Co. Long also caught a calf in the scramble.
