Notes from the Mayor
As I am writing this on Monday, I’m giving thanks for the 2 ½ inches of rain I received and the cooler temperatures. After two years of struggling with a terrible drought, this year we have been blessed and all the tanks and lakes around us are full. As Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller told the Hamilton County Republican Party at their meeting last week, some parts of Texas are in a very dangerous position. Lake Falcon in south Texas is 14% of capacity full. Lake Amistad in southwest Texas is only 27%. There are still areas we should pray for because nothing can exist very long without water.
