SENIORS-The above pictured (l-r) seniors, including Erich Eilers, Colby Bailey, Xander Ceresini and Denver Poe, helped lead the Bulldogs to a 17-8 bi-district qualifying season. The Dogs were 10-2 runners-up in District 12-2A this year behind only Italy. On Saturday, the Bulldogs traveled to Dublin to face Tolar in the first round of the playoffs and fell to the Rattlers by a score of 61-35. Though the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead midway through the first quarter and outpaced the Rattlers 11-10 in the second, Tolar controlled the defensive boards in the second half and created offense in transition to a tune of 36 points while holding the Dogs to just 15. Bailey led the Dogs offensively with 17 points. In addition to knocking down four three pointers, Bailey was a perfect three for three from the free throw line. The charity stripe proved to be an Achilles’ heel for the Dogs on Saturday. Despite connecting on just nine of 19 free throw attempts as a team, junior Mason Guinn was a perfect four for four from the line on his way to posting eight of Hamilton’s 35 points. Another junior, Keegan Votaw, recorded five points for the Bulldogs followed by sophomore Bryson Tarpley with three and Eilers with two. Staff Photo
