The Hamilton Lady Bulldogs clipped the wings of the 13th-ranked Goldthwaite Lady Eagles at home, 45- 39, last Tuesday before traveling to compete against a flight of state-ranked teams in the Lipan H.D. Howard Classic Thursday through Saturday. Though dropping competitive contests to Douglass, Childress and Nacogdoches Central Heights in Lipan, the Lady Dogs did grab an impressive 41-20 victory over Bangs. After falling to Goldthwaite 42-25 on Tuesday of last week, the junior varsity Lady Bulldogs earned a 30-14 decision over the host Lady Lions on the first day of tournament competition in Dublin Thursday. The young Lady Dogs came up short versus DeLeon and Comanche respectively on Friday and Saturday. Hamilton’s high school Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to travel to Crawford Tuesday and will be back on the hardcourt next Tuesday to kickoff district competition in Rio Vista. The JV girls will tip-off at 5 p.m. in Rio Vista, followed by the varsity Lady Bulldogs at 6:15. Hamilton’s junior high Lady Bulldog basketball squads walloped the Wampus Cats in Itasca Monday. The eighth grade Lady Dogs stamped a 43-10 win to remain unbeaten on the season, and the one-loss seventh graders stampeded to a 43-4 victory in Itasca.
