DISTRICT WIN: Hamilton’s varsity Lady Bulldog volleyball team and the JV Black got off to great starts in district on Tuesday of last week, chalking decisive victories on the road versus Meridian. The varsity Lady Dogs trounced Meridian in three sets by scores of 25-3, 25-4 and 25-7 to improve to 6-6 on the season, and more importantly, 1-0 in district. Hamilton’s JV Black defeated Meridian in two quick games by scores of 25-7 and 25-1 to move to 9-3 on the year and 1-0 in district. Matches versus Evant scheduled for last Friday were postponed. Hamilton’s varsity was set to host Three Way on Tuesday, and both the varsity and JV Black will travel to Hico this Saturday for JV competition at 10 am followed by the varsity at 11. Next Tuesday, Hamilton’s 8-1 JV Red team will face-off against district foe Tolar beginning at 5 pm followed by the JV Black at 6 and the varsity at 7 in Hamilton. Hamilton’s junior high squads are also off to impressive starts. The seventh and eighth grade A teams each earned two-set victories over teams from Stephenville on Thursday of last week. The eighth grade B team won over Stephenville in three games, and the seventh grade B team fell in two. HJH volleyball was scheduled to host both Meridian and Brownwood on Monday.
