Hamilton’s high school cross country teams marched on Waco Midway last Thursday, again facing some of the top 1A-4A programs in the state.

Before the sixth in state-ranked Lady Bulldog volleyball team faced the number two ranked team in the state in Valley Mills last Saturday, the Lady Dogs traveled to McGregor and completed a three-match trifecta. Hamilton’s junior varsity Red team bounced back from an 18-25 first set loss to McGregor by claiming game two, 25-19. The young Lady Dogs cruised in the deciding third set, again stamping a 25-19 win. The JV Black upended McGregor on the road in two competitive sets by scores of 26-24 and 26-24, and the varsity Lady Bulldogs proceeded to trounce their host in a three-set sweep by scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 27-25.

Hamilton’s state-ranked Lady Bulldog volleyball team pilfered the money signs off the ends of Las Vegas and cashed in a three set victory over 4A La Vega on Tuesday of last week.

HJH tromps through Zephyr

Hamilton’s junior varsity Bulldog football team improved to 1-1 on the young season after bottling up Dublin on Thursday of last week by a decisive 40-6 margin. In Millsap the previous week, the JV Dogs dropped a heart-breaking season opener by a score of 26-20. Millsap claimed an early 14-0 advantage and threatened to extend that lead when Hamilton’s Noah Starr scooped a forced fumble by Jacob Perry and reversed field 50 yards down to the Millsap 15. Devin Eanes took a reverse handoff from Bret Bauman and paraded 15 yards to put Hamilton on the board. Judson Coalson found Halston Haile on a slant pattern for a successful twopoint conversion.
