The Hamilton Bulldogs roared to a 2-1 district start in the New Year, nabbing a 54-38 win over Valley Mills on Tuesday of last week and a 73-39 home victory over Itasca on Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs took a commanding lead in the District 12-AA standings last week, bouncing Valley Mills 70-22 and storming Italy 61-18 to improve to 16-4 on the year and 5-0 in district.

The Bulldog basketball team is back in the saddle and was scheduled to tipoff district competition in the New Year versus Valley Mills on Tuesday of this week in Hamilton.

The 14-4 Lady Bulldogs are now 3-0 in district after trumpeting a 67-33 win over Itasca on Saturday.

Looking for a test, the Lady Dogs challenged two top 10 ranked 4A teams last week.

Hamilton's varsity Lady Bulldog basketball team trounced non-district opponent Cross Plains on the road last week, 75-27, improving to 13-2 on the year. The Lady Dogs are currently 2-0 in district with wins over Rio Vista and Frost.

Hamilton's all-freshmen JV Black squad is off to an impressive 8-4 start.

Hamilton's JV Red Lady Bulldogs are 1-3 on the year with a notable 28-17 win over Dublin.

The JV Red Bulldog basketball team is 5-5 on the year, last defeating Gorman on the road 34-30. Hamilton's JV Red Bulldogs will be back in action this Thursday as they host Lampasas at 1 p.m., directly following the JV White Dogs at noon.

Hamilton's JV White basketball team is 3-3 on the young season with wins over Bangs, Dublin, and most recently, a 29-21 victory over Comanche.
