Hamilton City Council last Thursday voted for a proposed budget and tax rate, approved the Hamilton Economic Development Corporation fiscal year budget and membership changes, adopted a water conservation and drought contingency plan, approved an agreement with KSA Engineers and voted to advertise and release surplus property.
The 52nd annual Hamilton County Dove Festival Pageant will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Chandler Craig Auditorium. Admission is $3, and People’s Choice votes are $1 each.

The I-26 Soaring Association National Competition was a huge success. Hamilton is now one of their preferred spots to have this type of competition because of our topography around the airport. There are miles of flat land around the airport, and there is plenty of room to make an emergency landing, if needed. Many of the participants have been very complimentary of Hamilton and its citizens.

The 2024-25 4-H year officially kicks off Sept. 1 with early enrollment beginning Aug. 15. Hamilton County 4-H of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is excited to welcome new and returning members to another year of 4-H programming and opportunity.
