Something has been on my heart, so this column and perhaps one a month, will be dedicated to the citizens of Hamilton and the citizens of Hamilton County who are in great need due to costly and devastating health issues. I want to bring their plight to everyone’s attention, while at the same time giving thanks for my health and that of my family.
Section 11.43 (h-1) Texas Property Tax Code, passed by the 88th Legislature and made effective 9-1-2023, now requires each residential property with a homestead exemption be confirmed by each county appraisal district that the property still qualifies for the homestead exemption once every five years.
