Woodrow Wilson Tracy Jr.

Woodrow Wilson Tracy Jr., known as Woody by friends and family, was called home Thursday evening, Aug. 10, 2023, in Hico. He was surrounded by his family to give him his final kisses goodbye. The decision for cremation was made so his final wishes could be granted to be buried in the Black Cemetery in Hico. A Celebration of Life will be held soon. The date and location will be posted in the newspapers so everyone can attend.

Woody was born Jan. 6, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, to Woodrow Wilson Tracy Sr. and Sylvia Mae Lowe. He proudly served our country as a Marine and bravely fought for our country. He resided in California for several years. He then drove 18-wheeler trucks for 18 years until he retired in 2003. He then resided in Hico, where he peacefully passed away at his home.

Everywhere Woody went he always greeted people and made friends with his big smile and bright blue eyes. He loved telling stories, jokes and hanging out at the Koffee Cup, Lilly’s, Ranglers and Sonic in Hico. He touched so many lives during his time in Hico. Woody had an unwavering faith in the lord, family and America. He undeniably loved his wife of 33 years, Brenda Tracy.

Woody is survived by his wife Brenda Tracy; a son, Matthan Tracy; four daughters, Chandra Ross, Kathy Embrey, Alpha Tracy and Falesiliga Tracy; several grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren who he loved dearly.

Woody is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Roberta Kay Henshew and Sunya Christine Tracy; a son; a grandson, Baby Robert McGown; and a great-grandson, Oakley McGown.

Monetary donations to help cover costs of services can be made to Sunflower Bank in Hico toward Woody’s savings. Flowers can be sent for the celebration of life ceremony.

Woody will be deeply missed by many. He can peacefully sleep now. OORAH!
