Viola Truss

Viola Truss, 92, of Stephenville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022.

Services were Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aleman under the direction of Riley Funeral Home.

Viola was born March 3, 1929, in Red Springs to Herbert and Lillie Mueller Hennig.

She had lived in Stephenville for the past 19 years, and prior to that she lived in Aleman for more than 50 years. During her years in Aleman she was a member and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church. After moving to Stephenville, she attended Faith Lutheran Church.

During her life, besides raising children, Viola had several occupations: working in a family business, which was a rural community repair garage and filling station, school bus driver, working at a bank in Hamilton, a substitute teacher, working at the post office in Purmela and also as a prison guard and crafts teacher in Gatesville.

Her favorite things to do was anything to do with the kids, traveling when she could, cooking, baking cakes including wedding cakes, crafts, sewing, painting and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Ted Truss; and sisters Florene Westerfield, Marilyn Lippe and her twin, Leola Shoaf.

Viola is survived by her sons, Tom and wife JoAnn, Terry and wife Judy, Tim Truss, Travis and wife Vicki and Troy and wife Sheryl; and sister Carolyn Scott.
