Ossie Scott

Ossie Ray Roberts Scott, 78, gained her wings April 4, 2023.

Funeral services were April 8 at Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton. She was laid to rest following the service in Cranfills Gap Cemetery.

On Aug. 28, 1944, Ossie was one of 11 children born to Claude and Cora Roberts in Belton.

She married Ealon Scott Jan. 28, 1960, and their first child, Victor was born in December of 1960. In October of 1968 a second child, Rodger, was born.

Later she became Mawmaw with six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.

Ossie was one of the kindest and most caring people you would ever meet. Her smile could melt your heart. As a young mother she worked tireless nights at the Hamilton General Hospital so she could care for her family during the day while sleeping a little between breakfast and lunch then a short nap after dinner before heading off to work.

Later she went to cosmetology school fulfilling her dream of operating her own beauty shop. After retiring, she continued to cut and style hair at the local nursing and funeral homes.

Ossie enjoyed push-mowing her yard and caring for her many beautiful flowers; her yard was always neat and pretty.

Ossie was baptized at the age of 10 by Brother Duck of the Baptist church in Cranfills Gap. She was baptized a second time by Travis Phillips on Jan. 17, 2017, in the Church of Christ in Hamilton.

Ossie was an inspiration to everyone, a true Christian woman. She was a once-ina- lifetime type of person. Her love and kindness for others was unmatched. Her family was very important to her, and she loved them all dearly.

Ossie is survived by her husband Ealon; sons Victor and girlfriend Melissa and Rodger and girlfriend Marti; grandchildren Chris McDaniel and wife Becky, Justin Scott and wife Amy, Emily Scott, Lane Scott and wife Lauren, Rylie Purcell-Scott and Austin Purcell-Scott; great-grandchildren Avery Scott, Hunter Scott, Amelia Scott and Charleigh Scott; brothers Raymond Roberts, Doyle Roberts and wife Ima Jean and Earnest Roberts and wife Gaynelle; and sisters Leona Simons, Lorene Burleson, Polly Stepp and boyfriend Joe Tatum and Linda Yates.

Her parents and three brothers, Amos, Ed and Billy Roberts, were waiting in Heaven to greet her.
