Mildred L. Spivey, 84, of Hamilton, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, in a Waco nursing center. Services will be Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at Riley Funeral Home chapel.

She will be dearly missed. Mildred Louise Spivey was born Sept. 2, 1938, in Hamilton County to William Luna Winningham and Ora Mae Sumerford. She was the fourth child of five. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1957. She moved to Waco to attend 4C College. During this time, she married and was blessed with two children. She resided in Robinson and Austin. Many years later she returned to Hamilton. She worked for the local florist, City Drug Store and Walls Outlet until she retired.

“Millie, MeMe” as she was known by family and friends, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had many hobbies, including crocheting, crafting and most of all working in her flower garden. She also loved to bake; she always had some dessert ready to be eaten. She was preceded in death by her brother Virgil Winningham and sister Lunora Murphy.

She is survived by her son Billie Duane Spivey of Corpus Christi; daughter Cheryl R. Lowe and spouse Alan W. Lowe of Lorena; two sisters, Dorothy Sommerfeld of Mineral Wells and Barbara Kay Noble of Mesquite; four grandchildren, Emily Spivey, Hunter Lowe, Trevor Spivey and Tanner Lowe; and one great-grandchild, Jayden Thomas.

The family would like to thank those who cared for her at Providence Village and Providence Hospice.

Memorial donations may be made to Live Oak Cemetery or the Hamilton Public Library.
