John Lee Coker

John Lee Coker, 82 of Indian Gap, passed away peace-fully in Hamilton March 11, 2024.

Services were Saturday, March 16, at 10 a.m. at Stacy- Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery, Mills County.

John Lee was born in Rosebud on Aug. 6, 1941, to Cyrus Norwood and Johnnie (Radford) Coker. He married Ginny Ruth Bodie on Sept. 4, 1964, in Columbia, South Carolina, and she preceded him in death Feb. 2, 2024.

John Lee embraced the story of Jesus when the Gospel came to the Coker family in 1952, and he loved it all his life. John Lee, along with his wife Ginny, opened their hearts and home to their family and many friends during their almost 60 years together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Levi Coker and sister Jeannette Coker.

John Lee is survived by his sons, Dennis (Carla), Todd (Bambi), Carlos (Melinda), Leslie (Davina) and Jay; 16 grandchildren, Adam, Jennifer, Mia, Ryder, Cash, Brady, Carolina, Suzanna, Caleena, Carson, Landon, Lillie, Autumn, William, Garrett and Sydney; two sisters, Carolyn Sue Hughes and Leona (Wayne) Rutherford; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
