Glenn L. Moore, 87, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Riley Funeral Home in Hamilton. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Glenn was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Hamilton County, to the late Bryan K. Moore and Freida Belle Fisher Moore. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1952 and finished two years of college.

He married Mary E. Moore in December 1963 and was married to her for 47 years. She preceded him in death in 2010.

Glenn was a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1958. He was a lieutenant in the Dallas Fire Department from 1959 to 1983 and worked in EMS from 1977 to 1981.

Glenn was a devoted Christian, attending Second Baptist Church in Dallas and Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton. He loved to read and study the Bible.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Moore; stepdaughter Donna Kelly; and grandson Jeff Dunham.

He is survived by sons Barry Moore and Dale Moore and wife Jackie and daughter Joni Moore, all of Hamilton; stepdaughter Janet Gillispie and husband Steve of Wylie; and sister Brenda Holland and husband Larry of DeLeon; 12 grandchildren, Tiffany Cervin, and husband Walter of Forney, Sarah Reed and husband Daniel of West Lafayette, Indiana, William Fine and wife Megan of Farmersville, Abram Fine of Wylie, Mary Chamberlain and husband Matt of Orange Park, Florida, Ginna Gillispie of Wylie, Brent Bartkowiak and wife Chelsa of Rowlett, Christopher Carver of Austin, Kim Starr Hill Bridges of Texas and Bailey Moore and Bryan Moore, both of Kansas; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers for the funeral service were Hank Wiggins, Brent Bartkowiak, Ted Sellers, Keith Gatewood, Bryan Moore and Walter Cervin.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
