David Kirkland

David Louis Kirkland, 67, died July 7, 2023.

A celebration of life was held July 22.

David was bom July 19, 1955, to Bobby Joe (Cob) Kirkland and Frances Kruger Kirkland.

He lived in Hamilton his entire life. He worked at Alexander’s Moulding Mill for many years and was also a self-employed carpenter. He took extraordinary pride in his work as a carpenter providing meticulous work.

This gentle, loving man was a dear brother and uncle who loved telling stories to his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He adored his special needs sister, Debra.

He was an eclectic collector of multiple items such as Native American art/artifacts, Americana pottery, musical instruments and metallic items that he found while prospecting with his metal detector.

He also crafted beautiful clocks and musical instruments. He enjoyed restoring antique automobiles as well.

He was a member of Park Heights Church of Christ and spent significant time discussing our Lord and Savior with family. It was truly important to him that he was living his life in alignment with the Lord, and he wanted others to come to Christ and live in Heaven for eternity.

He is survived by three sisters, Ginger Gruetzner of Hewitt, Sharon Shelton of Waco and Debra Kirkland of Hewitt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

We love you sweet David and plan to see you in Heaven one day!
